Overnight Set It Off released a brand new song called "Catch Me If You Can"off what they're calling "After Midnight (Part 1)". Immediately the melody hooks you along with Cody vocals. The first thirty seconds or so really showcase the smooth, soulfulness in Cody's voice. Add in the catchy lyrics, and Zach and Maxx's incredible playing and you have a recipe for a amazing song.
There's no denying the smoothness in Cody's voice but don't that fool you this song gives major rock and emo vibes. I picture Cody in the hourglass music video and even old school Set It Off vibes with the blue hair and eyeliner. This feels like they're taking us back in time to the Cinematics/ Duality ,or even Horrible Kids era. They started going in this direction with the bands latest album. This song feels like a extension of that and a perfect next step for them, and a perfect first step after Dan's departure.
This is just the bands B-sides I've read. With the guys hitting the road in 2020 with Sleeping with sirens and some of their own headline dates i have a feeling we'll be getting more new music sooner rather then later. If the rest of the B-sides are anything like this single i can't wait!
Catch Set It Off on the road this winter across the United States and Canada.
