Music’s Hallucinations was given an early listen to Balcony Talks newest release. Until the other day i had never heard of Balcony Talk but, after hearing this EP I certainly won't forget! I went into this review completely unbiased and open. A couple songs gave very early 2000s Pop Punk - Emo vibes, while other songs like Scapegoat leaned on the heavier side.

Iamlostwithoutyou starts with a little cough kind of giving what made me wonder if it was a little nod to All Time Lows classic Dear Maria or just a creative decision. Regardless this song was the perfect choice for the opening of the EP. I loved the lyrics, they made you feel the emotions of the song so clearly along with the guitar, the drums and every little layer of the song.

"Scapegoat" was definitely the EPs heavier more screamo track making it stand. While not usually something I would have put on for myself I’m very glad it was on this EP. I was surprised with how much I liked it. Even giving off a bit of a Linkin Park feeling.

"Why seven eight nine" had me doing a little bit of picturing in my head. I kept imagining it being played live. The mix of rock and pop punk had me excited from the start.

"Cut my nose off (to Spite My Face)" immediately reminded my right away of something from the early 2000's. With a great beat and great lyrics this song stuck out to me. The song kind of gave me some early As It Is vibes. It was a great song to wrap the EP up.

So in conclusion, while I may not have known of Balcony Talk before listening I certainly do now. If any of the bands i mentioned above interest you or you are a fan in any way I recommend this EP and Balcony Talk. Personally i will be immediately be putting this on my playlist March 13th.
